Speech Teletherapy Facts

Online therapy is just as effective as in person therapy.
Online speech therapy can help children and adults with all disorders in areas such as speech, language, social and cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders.
SLP is able to make personal connections with children and adults and engage them in their natural "home" environment.
A child is not too young nor is an adult too old for speech therapy online. The SLP will personalize activities and techniques to improve child/adults skills.
Teletherapy is not the same as just watching a show or playing a video game. Participating in speech teletherapy actively engages your brain through practicing and learning skills.
Teletherapy is easier to schedule and keep consistent.
Getting Started

- Schedule screening/evaluation to determine if family member could benefit from therapy, discuss concerns & expectations for therapy, and ask therapist questions.
- Family and therapist will determine treatment plan to include frequency and duration of treatment sessions.
- Start therapy at a time that works for family and therapist.
- Home implementation of strategies and coaching from therapist with loved one during daily routines/activities.
